Windy Ridge Farm is based in the heart of the Clutha District,on the outskirts of a small town called Benhar. Hi,My name is Andrew Moir,owner/operater of Windy Ridge Farm.Myself & Sons,Ezra & Seth,are very xcited to announce the new arrival of our,"Bottled,Pasturised,Full Cream Milk". In 2014 the farm was converted,from a cut & carry/grazeing block,to Dairy,to milk a few cows. This was going to be no easy task,but one I would venture on to do,with help from many. Craig Buchannan Builders,handled the dairy shed,Marty & the boys from Farm Fix It,they did all the steel work... Jarrod and the crew from Cowley Electrical,handled all the wireing and sparky bits.. Andrew Haulage,handled the effluent pond,pad,races & roads,with ease.. Between overseeing,paper work,late night phone calls and a family,I was also fixing up the 2 bedroom house,now,the farm home. 25 hectares of land,now ready and milking 65 very spoilt girls(cows),through a 14 aside herringbone cowshed. During milking,the girls are often fed,crushed barley & molasses and admittedly ,they"re not always entirely happy about leaveing their nibbles,but do so and off to a fresh brake of grass... August 2015,and with abit of persuasion from the local community,I decided to start selling raw milk,straight from the vat...Succesful and encourageing reviews (from the locals)had me hooked.Unknown to me at the time,it was the start of a totally new adventure. Several months in and new law changes ,stopped the sales of any raw milk being sold on farm...I was aware it was comeing,it just meant I had to do it all diffrently....so.. I have. Today January the 4th 2017,after many tireless months, I'm very excited to tell people, Im FINALLY!!able to sell milk again. I have a Pasteurizer on site, built by BMAC Sheetmetal, Invercargill, and am now registered with MPI so as to be able to produce, a product, I hope you'll all agree, so perfect in taste and quality...
